The Engagement Story
Tracy was being
sent to Portland for work, and Tojy came along to visit
some friends in the Northwest and go hiking in
Washington State. On Thursday, February 15th,
Tracy went to the Conservancy office to work, and Tojy
scoped out the best place to propose!
After getting dressed
up, they set off to the Portland City Grill. When
they got to the high rise (44 floors) building where the
restaurant is located, he talked to the security guy who
then escorted them up to the top floor of the building
(it became obvious to Tracy that Tojy had made
super-special arrangements to do this!) but the room was
unfinished with cement floors, white walls, and very
unromantic. He just was like, "Isn't this a great
view?" and then they went down to the 30th floor for
dinner.
The hostesses were
then like, "HI!!!!" and so sweet (because they thought
they were already engaged! Tojy's plan was to
propose on the 44th floor, but the setting wasn't what
he desired!). They were then seated at a corner
table at the window, with floor to ceiling windows.
At Tracy's seat were seven long stem roses to celebrate
their seven-month anniversary and a late Valentine's
Day.
In
Portland, it's really rainy and cloudy in the winter, so
Tojy was worried the view wouldn't be great that
evening. He prayed about it, and sure enough, the
clouds lifted and the waiter commented how he hadn't
seen a winter night so nice in a long time! They
could see the mountains in the distance, and it was
gorgeous!
After
dinner, Tojy came and sat next to Tracy on her side of
the table. After saying some nice things, he
pushed back his chair, got down on one knee, and asked
Tracy to marry him! She obviously said yes, and
now they hope you will join them on their wedding day.
Now, Portland is very close to their hearts.
